0f95b18a7b gio: use g_variant_builder_init_static()
All uses of g_variant_builder_init() in gio are safe to translate to the
new g_variant_builder_init_static() alternative as the type will outlive
the call to g_variant_builder_end() (or is already static in nature).

7c609f8142 gdbus: Use symbolic constants for interfaces from dbus-specification
Most D-Bus interfaces are domain-specific, but these interfaces from the
D-Bus Specification are intended to be commonly used in any context for
which they are found to be appropriate.

Most of these use `gdbusprivate.h`. One exception is that
`gio/tests/gdbus-example-*` redefine the constants locally: due to these
files' dual role as part of the unit tests and as sample code, it seems
desirable to ensure that they can still be compiled outside GLib.

7401577074 gdbus: Move protocol constants from gdbusdaemon into gdbusprivate.h
These well-known flags and replies are part of the D-Bus Specification,
and also exist with the same names in libdbus header files.
Moving them into a private header means that unit tests like
gdbus-proxy-threads and gdbus-subscribe don't have to reinvent them.

19223803f5 gdbus: Use symbolic constants to subscribe to message bus signals
Unlike the various functions to call D-Bus methods, these sort their
arguments in a non-obvious order (bus name, interface, signal, path),
presumably aiming to sort the most-likely-to-be-used arguments first.

a107a328e4 gdbusproxy: Add G_DBUS_PROXY_FLAGS_NO_MATCH_RULE flag
D-Bus has an upper limit on number of Match rules and it's rather easy to hit
with a big number of proxies with signal subscriptions. This happens with
NetworkManager with hundreds of devices or connection settings. By passing
G_DBUS_SIGNAL_FLAGS_NO_MATCH_RULE to g_dbus_connection_signal_subscribe(), the
user can call AddMatch with a less granular match instead of a match per every
proxy.

Tests subsequently added by Philip Withnall.

72afc79346 gdbusproxy: Replace home-grown weak ref implementation with GWeakRef
The fix for bgo#651133 (commit 7e0f890e38) introduced a kind of weak
ref, which had to be thread-safe due to the fact that `GDBusProxy`
operates in one thread but can emit signals in another.

Since that commit, `GWeakRef` was added, which does the same thing. Drop
the custom code in favour of it; this should be functionally equivalent,
but using an RW lock rather than a basic mutex, which should reduce
contention.

22ba4411cc gio: remove use of generic marshaller from GIO objects
Using the generic marshaller has drawbacks beyond performance. One such
drawback is that it breaks the stack unwinding from the Linux kernel due
to having unsufficient data to walk past ffi_call_unixt64. That means that
performance profiling by application developers looks grouped among
seemingly unrelated code paths.

While we can't fix the kernel unwinding here, we can provide proper
c_marshallers and va_marshallers for objects within Gio so that
performance profiling of applications is more reliable.

dec0a6874e gdbusproxy: only connect to NameOwnerChanged for message buses
Names are a message bus feature, so it does not make sense to connect
to NameOwnerChanged when the underlying connection is not a message
bus.

Moreover, g_dbus_connection_signal_subscribe() will also enforce that
condition. Adding this extra check here is helpful to avoid a critical
warning when using GDBusProxy with peer-to-peer connections.

47be0f7a23 gdbusproxy: make g-name-owner property useful with unique names
Currently, GDBusProxy:g-name-owner only notifies changes to the unique
name owner of the remote object in case the proxy was constructed for a
well-known name.
That sounds like an artificial restriction, and it's convenient to
connect to notify::g-name-owner if a proxy instance has already been
created for an unique name, instead of additionally using
g_bus_watch_name() to track the owner.

To fix this, always connect to NameOwnerChanged after the proxy is
initialized, instead of only doing so when the proxy was constructed for
a well-known name.

18a33f72db introspection: use (nullable) or (optional) instead of (allow-none)
If we have an input parameter (or return value) we need to use (nullable).
However, if it is an (inout) or (out) parameter, (optional) is sufficient.

It looks like (nullable) could be used for everything according to the
