Freebsd doesn't always have /proc mounted, so relying on
/proc for the tests isn't ideal.
This commit changes the desktop-app-info tests to use
mkfifo instead of /proc/../fd/.. to relay terminal
arguments.
Might help with this error message I'm seeing in CI:
/tmp/bin-path-H1UQT1/gnome-terminal: cannot create /proc/38961/fd/6: No such file or directory
It’s often (but not always) failing on the CI machines with a timeout
which looks like the FD sharing via `/proc` isn’t reliably working.
Disable this test (but not the whole `desktop-app-info` test suite) on
FreeBSD until someone who has access to a FreeBSD machine can debug it.

The implementation of `g_desktop_app_info_launch_uris()` will spawn the
exec file once for each URI unless the desktop file has a placeholder in
its Exec line which supports multiple URIs at once.
The fake terminal doesn’t have such a placeholder, so the fake terminal
script is spawned twice in quick succession, once for each URI. Since it
was making two separate printf calls (one to print the output to the
pipe, and one to terminate it with a newline), it’s possible that two
invocations of the script could interleave their printf calls, resulting
in pipe input along the lines of `URI1 URI2 newline newline` rather than
`URI1 newline URI2 newline`.
This would cause the test to fail.
Fix that by making the script atomic by moving the newline into the
first printf call.

Simulate launching applications using terminals by creating scripts on
the fly that are named as the terminals that we support, ensuring that
these are called with the arguments that we expect.

desktop-app-info test may fail when repeated with multiple concurrent
processes because the actions test relies on checking the existence of
in the shared build directory, so by doing something like:
meson test -C _build desktop-app-info -t 0.3 --repeat 80
We may end up in timeout errors, because we are waiting for files that
have been already deleted by other processes.
To avoid this, let's rely on writing the files on `$G_TEST_TMPDIR` env
variable, that is always set and unique, given that we're using the
G_TEST_OPTION_ISOLATE_DIRS test option.
The test was flacky because we were only relying on the presence of a
file, while the callback could have not been called yet, while ensure
for both assumptions to be true before stop iterating the loop.
Despite the name, we still used blocking calls to get the default app
for URI, now that we have an async implementation of the API to get the
default implementation for URI scheme, we can remove the blocking calls.
We did not check whether this function worked before, so add a simple
test case for it, providing some test functions to make it possible to
reply the same behavior

Specs say that on Unix id should be desktop file id from the xdg menu
specification, however, currently code just uses basename of .desktop file.
Fix that by finding the .desktop file in all the desktop_file_dirs and use
basename only as a fallback.
See https://specifications.freedesktop.org/menu-spec/latest/go01.html#term-desktop-file-id
and https://specifications.freedesktop.org/desktop-entry-spec/latest/ar01s02.html#desktop-file-id
"To determine the ID of a desktop file, make its full path relative to the
$XDG_DATA_DIRS component in which the desktop file is installed, remove the
"applications/" prefix, and turn '/' into '-'."
Also, add unit test that verifies Desktop Id is being correctly set

Emit this when we're about to spawn or DBus activate a GAppInfo. This
allows lauchers to keep the appinfo associated with a startup id.
We use a GVariant to allow for future exansion of the supplied data.
Swedish as spoken in El Salvador is not listed in
/usr/share/i18n/SUPPORTED, and in any case is probably not what we meant.
A more plausible language code would be Swedish as spoken in Sweden.
Prompted by improving the Debian packaging of GLib to generate most of
the language codes mentioned in the tests, so that we can have better
test coverage.

Split out XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP handling to a separate function and make
sure that it drops all the invalid entries properly. Earlier a bad
entry could slip through the checks by sitting just after another bad
entry, like in env being set to `invalid1!:invalid2!`, where
`invalid2!` could slip the checks.
It would always be initialized but initialize it to NULL to silence the
compiler, and also check that it is not NULL anymore when we expect it
to contain a valid value.

The `apps` subprocess is spawned by desktop-app-info to interpret the
forest of .desktop files, and its output is provided on stdout. If debug
output is mixed up with that output, tests which parse the output fail.
Disable the debug output from the subprocess to prevent this.
The new debug output appeared as a result of recent changes to the
desktop file dir monitoring code in gdesktopappinfo.c.

The appinfo-test.desktop file is set up with an Exec= path which points
to the compiled and installed appinfo-test utility. When running the
tests uninstalled, however, this might not be present, which causes
loading appinfo-test.desktop to fail.
Split appinfo-test.desktop in two: keep the existing
appinfo-test.desktop for tests which need to launch appinfo-test, and
add a new appinfo-test-static.desktop for tests which don’t launch
anything (and, for example, just inspect GAppInfo properties).
appinfo-test-static.desktop uses an Exec= line which should always be
present (`true`) so it should never fail to load.
Allow the tests using appinfo-test-static.desktop to be run uninstalled
or installed. Allow the tests using appinfo-test.desktop to be skipped
if loading appinfo-test.desktop fails, which is an indicator that the
test is running uninstalled.

By encoding the path to the appinfo-test binary in the .desktop files,
we can avoid a chdir() call in the tests, which was a bit ugly.

Add an app-launching function which allows standard file descriptors
to be passed to the child process.
This will be used by gnome-shell to pass systemd journal descriptors
as stdout/stderr. gnome-shell's child_setup function can then be
eliminated, which will enable use of the posix_spawn optimized
gspawn codepath for desktop app launching.
g_desktop_app_info_load_from_keyfile() refuses to load .desktop files
where the executable doesn't exist. Therefore whether or not the .desktop
file added in commit 148995544 is actually considered during tests depends
on /usr/bin/flatpak being installed. This isn't a safe assumption to make,
so use /bin/sh to test filtering of "prefix" commands.

The executable name can be a useful bit of information to match on in
searches where it differs from the name (for example because the latter
is localised), but will produce surprising results where the real appli-
cation is executed by a shared binary (for example interpretors like
gjs or python, or sandboxes like flatpak).
Address this by adding a blacklist of binary names that are ignored
in search.

Custom desktop file fields may be translated, but there is currently
no non-hacky way to look up the localized value; fill get gap with
a small wrapper around g_key_file_get_locale_string().
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=779413
Need to fix up some of the tests a little, because the
test binary will not necessarily be run from the current
build sub-directory, and the build directory structure
might not always be a mirror of the source directory
structure, so pass location of glib-mkenums and
glib-compile-scheme and such directly.
This is *significantly* more pleasant to use from C (while handling
errors and memory cleanup).
While we're here, change some ugly, leaky code in
tests/desktop-app-info.c to use it, in addition to a test case
in tests/file.c.

We currently assume that setting an application as the default will take
it to the front of the list of supported applications for a given type,
but this is not necessarily true.
Check instead that the application is actually set as default.

Add the basename from the first component of the Exec line to the list of
strings to search for via g_desktop_app_info_search().
We treat Exec as a fairly strong match -- just below the visible name.
Add a testcase to make sure everything is working OK.

For some time, the desktop file specification has supported "additional
application actions". This is intended to allow for additional methods
of starting an app, such as a mail client having a "Compose New Message"
action that brings up the compose window instead of the folder list.
This patch adds support for this with a relatively minimal API.
In the case that the application is a GApplication and DBusActivatable,
desktop actions are translated into GActions that have been added to the
application with g_action_map_add_action(). This more or less closes
the loop on being able to activate an application with an action
invocation (instead of 'activate').
