8ce40ac590 Add destructor for GParamSpecPool
While GParamSpecPool should never be used by newly written code, having
the ability to free the associated memory is a good idea. The only
reason why this hasn't been necessary until now is that we assume base
classes are going to keep their GParamSpecPool around forever.

d0e03f0930 GType: introduce GTYPE_TO_POINTER/GPOINTER_TO_TYPE
On CHERI-enabled systems we use uintptr_t as the underlying storage for
GType and therefore casting to gsize strips the upper bits from a pointer.
Fix this by casting via uintptr_t instead and introduce a new set of
macros to convert between GType and pointers.

ab7e584e9f Cast via guintptr when adding/removing bitsflags on pointers
Round-tripping pointers via gsize is not guaranteed to work (the C standard
only requires this for (u)inptr_t) and in fact breaks on CHERI-enabled
systems such as Arm Morello where pointers are 128-bits but size_t is 64.
This means the current casts would strip the high bits of the pointer and
return a non-dereferenceable value. Fix this by casting the operand that
holds the pointer to guintptr instead of gsize.

2787e59a77 CHERI: silence two pedantic warnings
When building for CHERI with additional warning flags, implicitly
converting uintptr_t to an integer type that can't store a pointer

gparamspec: mark nick/blurb as nullable
GParamSpec nicks and blurbs are effectively a deprecated feature,
or at least unused by most libraries these days. Since a number
of C libraries (i.e. GTK4) have started to null these out, annotate
them as `(nullable)` so bindings can do the same.

f62622fc7b docs: Start stanzas with a single paragraph
When rendering the contents of the GLib documentation stored inside the
introspection data, a common behaviour is to take the first paragraph as
a summary of the symbol being documented.

The documentation is assumed to be in Markdown format, which means:

 - paragraphs must be separated by newlines
 - lines that have an indentation of four or more spaces are considered
   code blocks
 - lines that start with a `#` are considered titles

This means we need to slightly tweak the documentation in our sources to
ensure that it can be rendered appropriately by tools that are not
gtk-doc.

00bfb3ab44 tree: Fix various typos and outdated terminology
This was mostly machine generated with the following command:
```
codespell \
    --builtin clear,rare,usage \
    --skip './po/*' --skip './.git/*' --skip './NEWS*' \
    --write-changes .
```
using the latest git version of `codespell` as per [these
instructions](https://github.com/codespell-project/codespell#user-content-updating).

Then I manually checked each change using `git add -p`, made a few
manual fixups and dropped a load of incorrect changes.

There are still some outdated or loaded terms used in GLib, mostly to do
with git branch terminology. They will need to be changed later as part
of a wider migration of git terminology.

If I’ve missed anything, please file an issue!

13d1697b67 gobject: Add g_{param_spec,signal}_is_valid_name() functions
Making this validation code public allows projects to validate a
GParamSpec name before creating it. While hard-coded GParamSpec don't
need this, we can't afford crashing the main program for dynamically
generated GParamSpec from user-created data.

In such case, we will need to validate the param names and return errors
instead of trying to create a GParamSpec with invalid names.

Includes modifications from Philip Withnall and Emmanuele Bassi to
rearrange the new function addition and split it into one function for
GParamSpecs and one for GSignals.

3a9bdcf704 gparam: fix memory leak in g_param_value_defaults()
We cannot  just call

    G_PARAM_SPEC_GET_CLASS (pspec)->value_set_default (pspec, &dflt_value);

without initializing the GValue first. It would call
param_string_set_default(), which would set the pointer value
to a cloned string (which later never gets released, because
the GValue is not known to hold a string).

Secondly, add various (not nullable) annotations as needed by the new
default in gobject-introspection of marking gpointers as (nullable). See
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=729660.

This includes adding some stub documentation comments for the
assertion macro error functions, which weren’t previously documented.
The new comments are purely to allow for annotations, and hence are
marked as (skip) to prevent the symbols appearing in the GIR file.
