I ran Bustle/dbus-monitor on the session bus while running the full GLib
test suite, and noticed that these tests were causing `Launched` signal
emissions on the main session bus. That suggested they weren’t isolated
properly, which at best causes noise on the bus and at worst could cause
spurious test failures.
Fix that by running those tests in a `GTestDBus` environment, as some of
the other appinfo tests already are.

If `update-desktop-database` or `update-mime-database` are not
installed, there are a few `GAppInfo` methods for modifying file
associations which will print a `g_warning()` when called. Something
like:
```
GLib-GIO-FATAL-WARNING: Failed to execute child process ‘update-desktop-database’ (No such file or directory)
```
(Example: https://gitlab.gnome.org/zamaudio/glib/-/jobs/3190053)
This will cause the appinfo/associations test to fail, as warnings are
fatal.
If that’s going to happen, skip the test. We can’t hard-depend on these
tools as they are external to GLib and only needed for a few operations.
Instead we have a soft runtime dependency on them; that should be
reflected in the tests.

We need to make sure that such binaries are built and available at test time
or we may fail some tests requiring them (directly or through desktop file).
As per this, and because now generated desktop files are available both
at build and install time, don't skip some tests we were used to, but
actually enforce they are running.
Include the base URI in the `g_test_bug()` calls instead. This resolves
inconsistencies between the old bug base (bugzilla.gnome.org) and the
new bug base (gitlab.gnome.org). It also has the advantage that the URI
passed to `g_test_bug()` is now clickable in the code editor, rather
than being split across two locations.

Some editors automatically remove trailing blank lines, or
automatically add a trailing newline to avoid having a trailing
non-blank line that is not terminated by a newline. To avoid unrelated
whitespace changes when users of such editors contribute to GLib,
let's pre-emptively normalize all files.
Unlike more intrusive whitespace normalization like removing trailing
whitespace from each line, this seems unlikely to cause significant
issues with cherry-picking changes to stable branches.

There seems to be no reason to do so, and since the `appinfo` test was
ported to use `G_TEST_OPTION_ISOLATE_DIRS`, it has been causing
coredumps to accumulate. `gnome-terminal` was chosen as the terminal,
but it couldn’t find its GSettings schemas due to all the XDG
environment variables being cleared to `/dev/null` by
`G_TEST_OPTION_ISOLATE_DIRS`.
In order to keep using `gnome-terminal` as a subprocess in the tests,
we’d need to explicitly set up its environment so it can load the right
GSettings schemas. That’s a lot of work for not much gain.

Helps: #436
The appinfo-test.desktop file is set up with an Exec= path which points
to the compiled and installed appinfo-test utility. When running the
tests uninstalled, however, this might not be present, which causes
loading appinfo-test.desktop to fail.
Split appinfo-test.desktop in two: keep the existing
appinfo-test.desktop for tests which need to launch appinfo-test, and
add a new appinfo-test-static.desktop for tests which don’t launch
anything (and, for example, just inspect GAppInfo properties).
appinfo-test-static.desktop uses an Exec= line which should always be
present (`true`) so it should never fail to load.
Allow the tests using appinfo-test-static.desktop to be run uninstalled
or installed. Allow the tests using appinfo-test.desktop to be skipped
if loading appinfo-test.desktop fails, which is an indicator that the
test is running uninstalled.

By encoding the path to the appinfo-test binary in the .desktop files,
we can avoid a chdir() call in the tests, which was a bit ugly.

The X-Flatpak-RenamedFrom key is used in .desktop files to identify past
names for the desktop file. It is defined to be a list of strings.
However, there was previously no correct way to retrieve a list of
strings from the GKeyFile wrapped by GDesktopAppInfo, short of
re-parsing the file with GKeyFile.
Note that doing something like:
g_strsplit (g_desktop_app_info_get_string (...), ";", -1)
is not correct: the raw value "a\;b;" represents the one-element list
["a;b"], but g_key_file_get_string() rejects the sequence "\;", and so
g_desktop_app_info_get_string() returns NULL in this case. (Of course, a
.desktop file with a semicolon in its name is a pathological case.)
Add g_desktop_app_info_get_string_list(), a trivial wrapper around
g_key_file_get_string_list(), similar to g_desktop_app_info_get_string()
and co.
The change from g_key_file_free() to g_key_file_unref() in the test is
needed because g_key_file_free() clears the contents of the keyfile.
This is fine for all the fields which are eagerly loaded and copied into
GDesktopAppInfo, but not when we want to access arbitrary stuff from the
keyfile.
Use g_test_skip() so that the TAP output is correct for the tests,
rather than printing using g_printerr().

New test to make sure we exercise the code paths in gdesktopappinfo.c
that get triggered when g_desktop_app_info_launch_uris_with_spawn()
is used (i.e. unknown app ID, no session bus), both for when either
a single URI or multiple ones are expected by the application.

Need to fix up some of the tests a little, because the
test binary will not necessarily be run from the current
build sub-directory, and the build directory structure
might not always be a mirror of the source directory
structure, so pass location of glib-mkenums and
glib-compile-scheme and such directly.
Make it possible to skip the terminal-launching test simply
by setting DISPLAY= . Previously, you had to unset DISPLAY,
which is a little more cumbersome.

Perform a substantial cleanup of the build system with respect to
building and installing testcases.
First, Makefile.decl has been renamed glib.mk and substantially
expanded. We intend to add more stuff here in the future, like canned
rules for mkenums, marshallers, resources, etc.
By default, tests are no longer compiled as part of 'make'. They will
be built when 'make check' is run. The old behaviour can be obtained
with --enable-always-build-tests.
--disable-modular-tests is gone (because tests are no longer built by
default). There is no longer any way to cause 'make check' to be a
no-op, but that's not very useful anyway.
A new glibtests.m4 file is introduced. Along with glib.mk, this
provides for consistent handling of --enable-installed-tests and
--enable-always-build-tests (mentioned above).
Port our various test-installing Makefiles to the new framework.
This patch substantially improves the situation in the toplevel tests/
directory. Things are now somewhat under control there. There were
some tests being built that weren't even being run and we run those now.
The long-running GObject performance tests in this directory have been
removed from 'make check' because they take too long.
As an experiment, 'make check' now runs the testcases on win32 builds,
by default. We can't run them under gtester (since it uses a pipe to
communicate with the subprocess) so just toss them in TESTS. Most of
them are passing on win32.
Things are not quite done here, but this patch is already a substantial
improvement. More to come.
Since this feature is so utterly automake-centric, we may as well be
using the same terminology as automake itself (ie: although it's
BUILT_SOURCES, it's DIST_EXTRA, not DISTED).
Also add some comments to the enum explaining that these terms are
really corresponding directly to the automake terms.

Very many testcases, some GLib tools (resource compiler, etc) and
GApplication were calling g_type_init().
Remove those uses, as they are no longer required.

This essentially adds an accessor for the MimeType field in desktop files,
to retrieve the list of all mime types supported by an application.
The interface though is part of GAppInfo, so it could be implemented
in the future by other backends.

This adds a GApplication object to GIO, which is the core of
an application support class, supporting
- uniqueness
- exporting actions (simple scripting)
- standard actions (quit, activate)
The implementation for Linux uses D-Bus, takes a name on the
session bus, and exports a org.gtk.Application interface.
Implementations for Win32 and OS X are still missing.
