I added support for Thunderbolt to initramfs. udev automatically approves devices that were previously authorized using tbtacl and the authorization data under /var/lib/thunderbolt/acl. The patch has been inspired by Bug #907367 in Debian (https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=907367); the proposed patch there hasn't been accepted yet. This patch uses a dracut module to include the authorization data and necessary components (udev rule, tbtacl, tbtacl-write).
For now the package puts a config file in /etc/dracut.conf.d where the corresponding line has to be uncommented for the module to be included. If support should be enabled by default we could put it in /usr/lib/dracut.conf.d.
I don't see any major security risks with enabling support by default (the devices will be enabled by default once the system boots anyway), but didn't want to enable it by default without informing the user.
